When questions arise about family history, inherited health conditions, or genetic testing, knowing where to begin can feel overwhelming.
Whether you are exploring concerns related to cancer, heart disease, a personal diagnosis, or genetic test results, the goal is the same:
To help you feel informed, confident, and supported in your next steps.

Understanding your personal or family health history can bring up a lot of questions. Open Helix Health provides thoughtful, individualized guidance to help you better understand inherited conditions, explore testing options, and make informed decisions with confidence.

Appointments are designed to feel collaborative and never rushed. Every consultation takes time to understand your personal and family history, answer questions, and provide individualized guidance.
Genetic testing is never pressured or assumed. The goal is informed decision-making, helping you understand your options so you can choose what feels right for you and your family.
Complex health and genetic information should not feel confusing or overwhelming. Open Helix Health helps make testing, results, and inherited health information easier to understand in a way that feels approachable and actionable.
Questions are normal, especially when personal or family health concerns feel overwhelming. Here are answers to the questions patients most often ask before getting started.
No. You may schedule a consultation directly with Open Helix Health.
If you were referred by a healthcare provider or have relevant medical records or prior genetic testing, we encourage you to share them before your appointment.
Not necessarily.
Testing is never required and may not be appropriate for everyone. Your consultation is designed to help you better understand whether testing may be helpful based on your personal and family history.
The decision to pursue testing is always yours.
Open Helix Health currently offers personalized consultations related to:
Personal and family health history concerns
Helping individuals better understand whether health conditions in themselves or their family may have an inherited cause.
Cancer risk and genetic testing
Support for individuals concerned about inherited cancer risk or wondering whether testing may be helpful.
Heart health and family history concerns
Guidance related to inherited heart disease, high cholesterol, sudden cardiac death, and other family heart health concerns.
Review of existing genetic test results
Expert explanation of previously completed genetic testing to help you better understand what results may mean and possible next steps.
That is okay. Many patients have limited or incomplete family history information. We will work with whatever information is available and discuss whether genetic testing may still be helpful.
Many patients are able to use Health Savings Accounts (HSA) or Flexible Spending Accounts (FSA) for consultations related to medical, diagnostic, or preventive care.
This may include appointments related to family history concerns, inherited health risks, or genetic testing guidance.
Because eligibility varies by plan, we recommend confirming coverage directly with your HSA/FSA administrator.
Appointments canceled or rescheduled more than 24 hours in advance may be changed at no charge.
Requests made within 24 hours of the scheduled appointment time are subject to a $75 fee.
